The first phase of the district specific innovative programme of Kollam DIET named  EFECT (Edublogs For Enhancement of Classroom Teaching) ended successfully on 18/08/2014. The teachers involved in the programme had got step by step training, onsite support and scholarly guidance from the part of the DIET Faculties and resource persons from time to time on blogging which helped the teachers to develop  professional skills and creativity. Edublogs created in the 12 schools selected for tryout also helped to motivate children for learning and also to develop effective communication between school and parents . It is beyond doubt that the programme had helped for overall school development.  GUPS Padinjattinkara had got the award for the best blogger school of the district.sponsored by Sri.  This year is declared as  the international year of family farming by The UNO. In this year, it is our misssion is to create awareness among our students  about the importance of family farming as a  solution for eradicating food shortage  .
More over it is 

• a  way of conserving nature ans natural resources

• a way of using waste materials in a productive way

• a way of using our leisure time creatively and productively

• a way of making our surroundings beautiful

• a way of decreasing cost of living 

• a way of enjoying togetherness with the family members         

•  and after all it is way of satisfying our commitments to our nation by contributing to its prosperity and conservation of culture

കുളം ഒരു ആവാസ വ്യവസ്ഥ ആകുന്നതെങ്ങനെ എന്നറിയാൻ ഒരു ഫീൽഡ് ട്രിപ്പ്‌ .നിയതമായ പഠന ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങൾക്കൊപ്പം കുട്ടികളുടെ ക്രിയാത്മകമായ കഴിവുകൾ  വികസിപ്പിക്കാൻ അവസരം നൽകിയപ്പോൾ ലഭിച്ചത് അവിശ്വസനീയമായ ഫലങ്ങൾ.
              കായലും കുളവും ഒത്തുചേരുന്ന പ്രദേശ മായ മൈലക്കാട് ശിവക്ഷേത്ര പരിസരത്ത് ഫീൽഡ് ട്രിപ്പ്‌ നു പോയപ്പോൾ വെയിലേറ്റു തളർന്ന കുട്ടികളുടെ വിശ്രമവേള അധ്യാപകർ പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്തി .25 മിനിറ്റ് നേരം കൊണ്ട് അവർക്ക് ഇഷ്ടമുള്ള എന്തെങ്കിലും ഒരു സൃഷ്ടി രൂപപ്പെടുത്താൻ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ ലഭിച്ചത് വൈവിധ്യമാർന്ന ഒട്ടേറെ സൃഷ്ടികൾ . മിക്കതും ഏറെ മികച്ചവ .ഇവ പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്തി ഒരു മാഗസിൻ സൃഷ്ടിക്കാൻ ഉള്ള ശ്രമത്തിലാണ് അധ്യാപകർ
